Using Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources

In 2022, the district replaced its fleet of gasoline-powered golf carts with electric golf carts, resulting in the avoided combustion of 2,000 gallons of gasoline per year! The district is systematically transitioning its entire fleet of vehicles to hybrid and electric to decrease overall carbon emissions from gasoline combustion.

Electric Powered Tools

Using electric-powered tools vs. gas-powered tools helps the district cut down on overall emissions from gasoline.

LED Light Bulbs

We're strategically switching the lighting at the preserves to LED. It reduces energy use by 70,000 kWh/year, equal to charging 6M smartphones!
